Upper Three Gates:
1. Zhang Qishan (张启山), or better recognized as Zhang Da Foye (张大佛爷)/Fo Ye (佛爷): the leader of the Nine gates, represented the Zhang Clan (张家). Related to Zhang Qiling.
2. Er Yuehong (二月红), or better known as Er Ye (二爷): represented the Hong Clan (红家). Taught both Chen Pi A'Si and Xie Yuchen
3. Ban Jie Li (半截李), represented the Li Clan (李家)

Middle Three Gates:
4. Chen Pi A'Si (陈皮呵四), represented the Chen Clan (陈家). Chen Wenjin's father.
5. Wu Lao Gou (吴老狗), or commonly referred to as Gou Wu (狗五), represented the Wu Clan (吴家). Wu Xie's grandfather.
6. Hei Bei Lao Liu (黑背老六), represented the Hei Clan (黑家). He has no offspring, and is NOT related to Hei Yanjing.

Lower Three Gates:
7. Huo Xianggu (霍仙姑), or Qi Guniang (七姑娘), represented the Huo Clan (霍). The only female Gate member; Huo Xiuxiu's grandmother.
8. Qi Tiezui (齐铁嘴), or Qi Men Ba Suan Qi Tiezui (奇门八算齐铁嘴), represented the Qi Clan (齐家)
